if act 3 were like act 1, the glyphs would be, i don’t know, something like letters of the phoenician alphabet and we would have to plot latitude and longitude coordinates to discover them, then we would have to find some rosetta stone, phonecian to danish, through some hanso shipping algorhythm over at hansoshipping.org (”shipping a better tomorrow to you” ) this would lead us to the helgus boat and we would have to compare the danish words to a passenger manifest for the ship and voila! the video would be found because we’d discover valenzetti’s nephew was skippering the boat….

Well...I agree with you, Todd...I mean, I freaking saw Rachel in person, and it was cool...but the whole thing's getting a little blurry for me, too. And definitely less mentally stimulating than the first two parts. The big challenge now seems to be playing editor to these fragments we get...and yeah, (I think) that's actually kind of fun. But as far as the glyphs... they should certainly be in better places than just being "placed" on somebody's blog.

I'll say this, though...there were PLENTY of times when watching the show "Lost" (especially this season) where I thought to myself, "Ugh...where are they going with this...come on..." But they consistently pulled off satisfying payoffs to keep the narrative interesting (and I assume most of you would agree...otherwise you probably wouldn't be here). Plus, I really think we could possibly be sitting on a really MAJOR development in the video (both in terms of the show, as well as this ARG) that could very well be worth all the frustration. So...um... I'm gonna hesitantly go ahead and give a little more of my dwindling blind faith to the people behind the game, and trust this will all come around eventually.

Or, maybe I just don't want to have to end up admitting that I wasted three months on this for nothing...

starting to get bored here and i've been meaning to express my disinterest on the few blogs i follow.
excuse the soapbox....

part one of the game was brilliant and interesting, lots to decode and find, using everyones skills. an interesting thoughtful storyline unfolded and seemed to form a continuation with the season ender. it was a puzzle to savor as we all unlocked it

part 2 is ok but i felt it was taking us farther afield from the tv show. the world of 'lost' slipped over into reality with mcintyre on kimmel and rachel. and it all started making less sense. persephone of the first part who was so capable, became rachel who really doesn't seem the same. and all the story became was rachel saying 'trust me' and mistakes on the parts of the creators being covered up, like the early video release. it made the game twist convolutedly i think.

part 3 we are just being spoonfed each section. rachel now confronts the lost panel which seemed cool but on retrospec seems to blur the lines between the in game world and reality and really loses my interest (and then they had to give us the codes because few realized the arm band significance early on and so they posted a series of 'closeup photos' from the comiccon, which all seem taken with intent). we've seen the emperor without his clothes, the mystique isnt there anymore. day 1 or 2 of glyph hunting was good. but none of the glyphs were in the spots we expected them to be in - sublymonal, jeep, ROT, etc..

every day we get some new codes given to us and we stick them in. if we cant find a code someone writes a script to figrue it out. where is the creativity exhibited with part 1.

this giving us the codes bores me. it is peddling to the new masses who flock to the game. and it really isnt telling us anything. we have what? maybe a month of codes yet to get. and who really will care about 68-70, we'll have the story by then. you can bet code 70 is going to be the one that completes mr. beardy saying "i'm .."

maybe i'm wrong and there is some grand intent with the glyphs icongraphy that will reveal itself

the only revelation really interesting to anyone seems to be who is mr. beardy. is he hanso or not.

and all of this dribbling (without any elegance of working through a puzzle) for probably 4 minutes of video. and each time we input the codes we have to sit while the system starts up and lets us log in and then drags while it loads all the fragments found so far (even on DSL)

not seemingly worth it. just release the video and get on with it i say. i think maybe i'll just start checking in once a week or so and gather the 10 codes released by that time and stick them in.

also what really does any of this have to do the the TV show at this point. there dont really seem to be any links to characters on the show at this point. time-wise all this is takig place years after the time in the show.

seemingly this glyph video might tell us something about the island. who knows.

i may be wrong about all this, perhaps there is a grand plan that will reveal itself and i'll be amazed. for now i am just bored.

I have to agree, this part is frustrating. The pieces are not hidden where we have been looking previously. Also, they are very easy to find, which does not make it at all exciting.

On another note, Matt the Pale has a page on aol. You can get the link on thelostexperienceclues.com. He has his guess of how the clips fit together so far, which might be worth looking into if you are interested.

I will probably not be checking back in with the regularity I was before either. It is just not that exciting right now. Good luck to everyone else!

and it is also interesting that in the most recent rachel video that she talks about the 'wards' on the ship, another meaning of 'ward" is glyph, a magical symbol that seals something.

Just wanted to let you guys know...yeah, I was there, and yeah, it was awesome. People had been buzzing, so you could tell something was gonna happen...but I think people were genuinely surprised by Rachel actually being there. For anyone who's been dissing the girl's acting skills, well...I used to do a little theatre myself, and let me tell ya, she pulled off that (mostly) improvised bit really, really well. (Damon's pretty good, too.) And just for all of you Rachel-Lovers...yeah, she's not bad looking in person, either.

Anyway, the panel was awesome, the crowd was great and enthusiastic, and all in all it was a great day. Sorry Doug -- couldn't score the Be@rbricks for ya...not enough time. But I was definitely representin' the lost.beloblog crew with my 1000th post Dharma T-Shirt!! (Thanks again!)

Do we have an assumed order for any of these so far? I would think that ohge would be slot 1, but someone said something about slot 2 earlier.

I'm really not happy about them splicing the game with the tv show. if rachel appears in real life to talk to people who act on the show, then the game is refuting that the tv show is real (obviously its not real but in the shows storyline it is) so if hanso is real but the show is not, why does the show paint such a bad picture of hanso? I preferred it when they both could have been really happening, seperately but two sides of the same 'story'

Rachel's blog has been updated again- this time with a FAQ.

There are 12 glyphs so far out there in cyberspace and ll have been found at the time I'm writing this.

I'm sure more are to come--but how fast they will be found is yet to be determined! :-)

Lost-n-Found says they've seen all 12, but I can't figure out which one they have that I don't. I have the same 11 that Allison has, and LnF is counting my 10 and 11 as 11 and 12. Anyone here have a differnt 12?
Also: What zone are the time stamps on this blog set for?

I have 10, but cannot seem to get any sort of a sequence.

I did a little digging, and apparently IOBSeeingYou was IMing with a TLEC person and gave them an actor's name for a clue. The actor was Pedro Armdendariz. He was in a movie version of Steinbeck's book The Pearl.

Pretty random. Oh, and the video is found by using the clues from the ROT board and going to richerdeeperbroader.com. Apparently, someone has already put the video on YouTube because you had to download it and it was WAY too slow.

I won't tax your time or your brain today with a long message but I would like you all to take a moment out of your busy schedules to sit down in a quiet place, relax, and think about all the good things in your lives. While they may seem few and far between they do exist. It is easier to think of and focus on the negative but not always the healthiest or the most productive way to utilize your mental energies.

Is it just me or is everyone far more bored with the 2nd act than the first? I just dont think they put nearly as much into this as the 1st. Maybe because THF.org is down, I dunno but I'm really hoping part 3 is more exciting.

Hey, maybe even longer. LOST will be shown for six weeks when it returns, then be gone for 13 STRAIGHT WEEKS all the way up to February. That's November, December, and January.

So I'm betting that there'll be a mini-TLE during that hiatus to pacify us. Mark my words.
Or, better yet, hide them in source code, scramble them into an anagram, and convert them into ASCII.

By the way, word is that Act 3 will likely start any day now...possibly even over the weekend, somehow coinciding with Comic-Con (which I will be attending -- and I'll let you know if I see Miss Blake anywhere around my fair city.)

I think Persephone is dead and Rachel has taken over. Or maybe not, I dunno. But I like the idea of her being Alvar's love child! She has to be related to one of them otherwise there wouldn't have been all the mention of lying in her genes, the emotional stuff about her mother etc.

Ok so i've gotten to an error page when I click the zero_n_such but I see no lost or anything to click on when I get there and I cant find anything just navigating through the jeep site. need help por favor.

Aiight, here's my theories to those questions.

1. honourbar - obviously to do with the hotel, other than that...who knows. (milkcartonman, anyone?)

2. The ally -- I have a feeling that he (like Rachel) is someone personally invested in bringing down the Hanso foundation, but has been working from the inside. Something pushed him over the edge (perhaps the death of Darla), causing him to blow up, blow his cover, and now, he's on the run.

3. Rachel's identity - Clearly, the Man in Black knows exactly who she is. And, being the only one in the entire freakin' game who hasn't said to her, "Wh...why are you doing this...?", he must have some idea as to her motives. My strongest guess (the one I've had for a while, and I'm certainly not the only one who feels this way) is that Rachel's father was/is a part of Hanso, maybe even someone we would know. Unlike many, though, I don't think it's Mittelwerk. (Or Alvar.) But somebody. And her new ally may be more connected to her than she realizes at this point.

One conspicuous thing stood out to me...why does our man refer to the gun as "this thing", he uses for "protection" from "them"? What kind of a gun is it, exactly? What is it carrying? Some kind of vaccine? If so...then..why would it still be fatal to Rachel?

And one more thing...those glasses she puts on at the end...glasses-cam? (If so, the next video should be off the heezy for sheezy, y'all) OR... a further clue...into her "real" (and possibly dorky?) identity?

Might be nothing but "honour bar" is anagram of on/no harbour.

milkcartonman could be a ref to someone going missing, i remember that someone (yes it is a dodgy source) said that they saw walt on a milk carton in the hatch on one of the eps after the others took him from the raft (as in he was missing) spooky, yes.

I followed all the instructions above, but couldn't find "crush zone" on any of the vehicle descriptions--where can I watch the new video?!

Ellen: On the compass site, click the 252 area, log in with the info Rachel provided on the blog entry. Then go into the mydocs folder and click the zero_n_such link, which takes you to the Jeep site. Click on the word "LOST" in the phrase "well one of us is lost". That brings up the Jeep hot zones thing -- click "SAFETY/SECURITY" in the left nav and then roll over the orange hotspots until you find "crush zones." Click it, video window pops in below, click "Watch demo." Voila!

Ok for real every time I click the file to take me to the Jeep site it says page cannot be found. I dont know if anyone else is having this problem but I dont know what else I can do to get there if anything. Is anyone capable of helping me with this?

The Hanso Foundation page has been updated. It now has a link to Mittlewerk's TV advertisement from last week's episodes which promotes "spirited debate".

Looks as if the Hanso Foundation page will be re-opening soon!

On the shut down hanso site there is a link to the clip with Mittlewerk, is this an old clue or a new one

DJ Dans site has been updated, if you go to Eyes on the Man, you'll see links to 2 new videos about Mittlewerk.

Having looked at the new password, I can see where it was got from. If you view source on ROT there is a line with Hidden and then a lot of stuff after it. If you take the stuff after it and change it using a base64 converter, out pops the password in the converted text.
I'd actually converted it earlier but didnt take any notice of what showed up, as I disn't think it was password material, obvioulsy I was wrong.
