I've got something on the bloodmoneysorrow image: map locations.

The list of sites alpha, beta, and delta is interjected with parenthetical numbers. I believe these numbers correspond to map coordinates. The numbers following "alpha" (4888) translate to 48N 88W, roughly the location of the map from Lake Superior.

Beta, (1060) is most likely 10N 60W, which is a location off the coast of the island of Trinidad and Tobago. This is probably the location of the equatorial island that Persephone thought she saw.

Delta, (19120) seems to be 19N 120E, just north of the Philippines. It's just to the east of the Papuyan islands. Again, more islands.

So that begs the question: what is the "original island target" which "THF has not utilized... for some time"? Sounds to me a lot like the final resting place of Flight 815. (Which would bring credence to my theory about the Canada map being significant to the story in that an island with magnetic properties -- like the Lost island -- is found within its margins).

Assuming the above to be true, it leads us to two further questions: 1- what is the SPIDER PROTOCOL and what does it have to do with islands with magnetic properties. And a strictly Lost-but-not-really-TLE-related 2- If THF hasn't been using the site for some time, then who are the Others?!

This may be coincidence but... I was just playing with the idea that the numbers in brackets on the recently found blood/money etc document maybe map co-ordinates. I put in the first one 48n 88w, and lo and behold it takes us to Lake Superior and reasonably near Edward Island per Mittlewerks map.

About a quarter of the way through the video, it looks like there is a damaged area. I have tried slowing it down, and I think there maybe something hidden in the "damage". Anyone have any software to investigate it?

Just to follow up on the fakery...I'm starting to get kinda confused, and I'm getting a little worried about the future of this game. People are referencing a new "character" named Mandrake Wig...(reference to the ROT site obviously.) He's got both a Flickr and a Myspace account. There are some pictures, and some blogs, that may or may not give some clues. In fact, the folks over at the ROT threat specifically lead us to "the Drake" for our next clue...which leads to a clue, etc. So far, people have put together a couple of pretty verifiable word-clues: "Welcome" and "Your". But the two most recent..."Next" and "Video", are derived from Mandrake's MySpace account. I'm just a little iffy about his site. It just seems fake. Aside from the fact that it would be insanely simple to set up accounts like these (they're pretty open) just to try and throw people off, the page itself has quite a few typos, not to mention some relatively inappropriate language on one of his blogs.

I'm probably missing something, and maybe it is legit -- this game is gettin' crazy huge and hard to keep track of everything -- but along with what Ellen was talking about, I think the bottom line is this: As this game continues to expand in both scope and popularity, there will be those who will continue to pop up with fake sites, clues, etc...and it's likely that as time goes on it's going to be harder to spot the "obvious" fakes.

Those of us who are trying to play the game in earnest are going to have to realize that this is, unfortunately, part of the game now too -- seperating the fakes from the phonies.

There haven't been any posts here on the RoT site's password being changed so I'm just gonna lay everything I've done out and sorry if I'm rehashing old news...

I got the new RoT news letter and the yellow lab's name "Wand prowess" is an anagram for "new password" (signalled by the lab telling the Dr to remember his name "not as it is but as it can be." )

The PS clue from Rachel (should I question the legitimacy of this source??) leads me to believe that the password is in the post script.

Hey, I know the general consensus is that Rachel isn't Hugh's original 'bit on the side' but think about the way she and GidgetGirl have argued about the moral issues of the photos.
Both are far too defensive and Rachel has the tone of one who has been jilted -she says he "can't seem to keep his own fly in the locked and upright position" and GidgetGirl points out her overemotional attitude towards him:

Rachel clearly worked for the Hanso Foundation at some point and is almost certainly Persephone, but GidgetGirl also claims to be in a good position to get info. I was browsing the other boards last night as well as checking out other Lost related websites and found that SaveJoop.com has been shut down.

Digging through the boards, I found that another blog http://sitonamonkey.blogspot.com/ had some interesting hidden items on it. It's being run by those who were running SaveJoop.com. Scroll down to picture 108 then check out the comments on it. You'll find links to a few more sites that require passwords and the comment that Hanso forced them to shutdown the site via a cease and desist letter signed by Peter Thompson.

According to them, they are definitely "in-game" and will be uploading more clues etc. in different places on the net as wel.

On Wikipedia we find that Nazim Hikmet Ran was a Turkish poet influenced by the Soviets. -Orhan- script(or Orkhan) is linked to from there, and that is the earliest known Turkish language. It is also called "runiform" by some and is concidered one of the first written languages.

Put those two wikipedia articles together and you get "Orhan Hikmet Ran".

Vikrem Sahani - The name is best linked to simply being Indian. And there is a famous poet connection.

Older, bright Asian men, perhaps mathematicians or writers. Perhaps simply scholars.

Well, Ellen, I think that it's only the first of a string of words that will form an entire clue. Caberet is a musical- and if you look into teh Verizon website at richerdeeperbroader.com, you'll see that they are advertising a new music service starting in July. So.... it may lead to new clues, but it will also allow for more advertising of Verizon, in my opinion. And I'm not sure if that's something I'm going to be exceptionally happy with.

i've been enjoying all the retconning that goes on. first they cover up the early video release mistake, now the thing with the maps. perhaps they didnt expect us to find the canada location so soon, so now we get this "wow canada, gee you found it but there is another map of an island near the equator, but i am not doubting you guys"

I was just listening to Persephones page, I never heard the numbers, but to me, at the moment it sounds like it is saying "help help" and something that sounds like "burning or murders or bernie". I dont have the technology to try and clean it up so I am not at all sure.

RB's page is updated with a new video! I am still working on the video, but she points us to letyourcompassguideyou.com. There is a folder in the /trash directory called illumination. It takes you to the Jeep site... maybe there is something there? Help is appreciated!

I found the video! Go to letyourcompassguideyou.com. Click on the /trash directory. Click on the "illumination" folder. It takes you to a jeep compass site. On that sidebar, click interior (as in view interior). Then, in the main big window on the page, click "in back". Then, find the little orange and yellow circle that says "removable flashlight" (as in illumination!). Go to "view demo", and you will get RB's latest video! It's a little crazy, per usual for RB!

Rachel has just posted again on her blog. The link takes you to the let your compass guide you page. Instead of 108 you can click near 216, it gives you to the admin folder with a request for the password. Still investigating. Will post more as I find it.

Interesting that they seem to be directly addressing us "players" in this one.

Did a little bit of research on some of those islands. Nothing too terribly exciting about Edward Island: the only potentially significant event I could dredge up from it's history is that the steamer "A. Neff" wrecked there in 1886, and someone somewhere postulated that Mittlewerk is looking for a shipwreck. The other islands, Simpson and St. Ignace, have two big patches of pink on the satellite photo. These were caused by huge forest fires in 1998. Could Hanso be responsible for those?

Here's what I found interesting, though -- apparently, there is an island on the map, located at 48°24', 88°34', called "Magnet Island." This account tells of a man whose sailing in Lake Superior whose charts had the island labeled "Magnetic Disturbance/Anomalie magnetique."

An island with strange magnetic properties?

Also, something odd:

Putting a subdomain before rachel's stophanso blog (such as http://anything.stophanso.rachelblake.com/) doesn't redirect you to the stophanso blog. It plays the flash movie about the closing of the Hanso Foundation website.

Again, things like this you have to wonder if it's intentional or if it's just an error on the part of the game authors.

I think the small island in Mittelwerks photo is Edward Island in Lake Superior, Canada.

The island from the video appears to have been discovered through Google Earth. The island is apparently in Lake Superior in Ontario, Canada, near Thunder Bay. I don't know if the island has a name. Link:

And I agree with Larry. I think the Hanso Foundation's next major project should be getting Mittelwerk to the nearest Copenhagen-area Supercuts as soon as possible.

Ok I'd like a second opinion here on a questionable link.
1. On broadbandstories, top line, first on left, there is a video about "Trekshare.com" I have watched this video a few times and I think Rachel is featured in it. There is a woman in a red dress standing in a kitchen.
2. Also on the trekshare site is a blog by someone called beliving thats odd. I may just be clutching at straws, another opinion is respectfully requested.

hmmm... considering that the location of the LOST island is one of the biggest mysteries of the show, i really doubt that they will reveal its location in TLE. the LOST viewers who don't play the ARG would miss out on a huge plot point, i think.

Hey guys did anyone type in the code at sublymonal wrong. I spelled reckon as rekon and messages appeared with codes, but I dont know what to do with them.

I'm actually surprised they haven't done this yet. I put DJ Dan on my MSN figuring he would eventually try and IM people.

At some point there has to be something more. Either IMs, emails or phone calls. Most of the good ARGs tend to do that.
